First of all, you didn't get here overnight, and you're not going to get there overnight. But there are other ways to measure success when you're going on a lifestyle change. The scale is a factor, but I would say weigh yourself, like once a week. I don't weigh myself, but I can just listen to my body. There are also other factors in play and not just the scale. I want you to pay attention to inches lost, How your clothes are fitting. Are they tight, or are they loose? Can you tell the difference?

Hey everybody! Welcome to your Two o'clock tasting and a Keto tip. My name is Stephanie, and welcome to the Keto mom page. I am jumping in between doing lots of errands. Clearly, I have my winter coat on, weel it's actually not a winter coat. I call this my farmer girl coat., and also it's my husband's, but I love it. It's really cold out, but I have to go back outside so I'm keeping it on. I always say that we live on a farm, like a fish farm. We actually live on a lake, so that's why I like to say it's a fish farm... Alright! Where are you tuning in from? How is your day? I have two questions for you. One, are you excited about Thanksgiving? I don't know what has gotten into me, but last year we really didn't get to do Thanksgiving with my husband's side of the family.
We always have before, and forever and ever. A lot of them stayed at home last year, but we normally do Christmas and Thanksgiving with them together. So we are hosting, we're making the food, and I want to get all the food right now. I want to go to the store, I already have the turkey, and I already have the ham. I'm excited, I'm just really excited. I'm excited for the holidays, it's just a fun feeling.
So that's my first question, "Who's excited for Thanksgiving?". If you don't live in the United States, it's okay. You can still have one, I think Canada already had theirs. The second question is, "Anybody here who has their Christmas shopping done, or has started?". I'm probably halfway done, my goal was to be officially done by Thanksgiving. Actually, I wanted to be done by the beginning of November, but then I thought my husband and I will be married seventeen years on Thanksgiving. We got married on Thanksgiving seventeen years ago, and it's a great story. I didn't come here to tell you this, but I'm telling you anyway.
Thanksgiving was the only day that worked for our families to have a wedding. We didn't want to wait, and we didn't want to spend thousands of dollars. We just really wanted to be married, and so it worked. Great Grandma made the food, we got married in the garage of Steve's grandparents. It was great!
I say all of that because we're going to go just have fun!... Does anybody do Black Friday sales here?. Here's the deal, Black Friday, the sales are already all over the internet. You can just type in "Black Friday Sales", and everything's already out. But I thought "No, I want to go on a long date and go walk around stores and just have fun"... So we're not going to have our anniversary until the day after, and we're just going to have fun walking around the stores. We probably won't need anything by then, but you never know. Anyways, I'm having a really fun time, even before all the holidays, because I'm just extra excited. I don't know, I just have this joy...
Anyways, I'm going to shake up my Mom Fuel. Clearly, I'm obsessed with this flavor, and I really need them to launch it again. Some of you have asked for trials, I don't have anymore. Okay, going back, I'm going to shake up my Mom Fuel because I have a lot to do today. We have our house being appraised tomorrow, but we're not selling it. We just have a lot of things going on, so many things.

All right! My tip of the day... Good grief! Do you think I probably need some of this stuff? I just ran down the street, and I was going to wait for Black Friday. But we have a little girl, if you follow my FB stories, you know that she loves horses. And she really wanted some cow-girl jeans or those bootcut jeans. She always wore skinny jeans, and I was going to wait, but then I thought "I probably shouldn't wait". There's only one specific type of jeans that fit her, so I just went and bought them and they're so cute...
Okay! Going back, here's your tip of the day. Oftentimes people message me and say, "The scale is not moving", "This scale is not moving", "Why is it this scale moving?"... My first question is, "How long has it been?". This is not a two-week, one and done, or like a two-week start to finish.

You may say diet, but I say lifestyle. The scale is a factor, but I would say weigh yourself, like once a week. Go hide that scale, I probably haven't weighed myself in two years. I just know when I'm not eating right because I feel disgusting. I get bloated, and I realize that I'm eating way too much dairy, or clearly I'm not paying attention to my food. I can just feel it. I don't weigh myself, but I can just listen to my body. There are also other factors in play and not just the scale. I want you to pay attention to inches lost, How your clothes are fitting. Are they tight, or are they loose? Can you tell the difference? I have people that will say, "I don't see it, but my husband said my face looks smaller and slimmer"...
Other people may notice it in you. For fat loss, you're going to see it in inches lost, clothes fitting differently, and you're going to feel different. You can probably walk further, or lift more weights. Ketones preserve muscle, so you're not going to lose muscle mass, but you're actually going to gain muscle if you're doing any type of workout. This is actually good because muscle weighs more than fat.
The scale can also be deceiving. I know that you want to weigh yourself, and you want to see that number go down. It will, you just have to be patient. I need to sometimes tell people, "If you just back up for a second, don't even think about measuring yourself". If you say, "I used to eat this way". So think of how you used to eat, maybe it was a lot of fast food, sugary drinks, sugary coffees, a lot of snacks, and more sugar. "I used to eat this way, and now I'm eating this way", "I'm eating more salads, more veggies, drinking more water, and eating less sugar"...
If all you do is compare your old menu versus your new menu, do you think it makes sense that I'm going to eventually see progress? One hundred percent! But it takes time.
So if you think that in two weeks, you're going to see this new meal plan work for you, it will. But you just don't know yet, because there are big words like metabolic damage, taking medications for years, stress, and lack of sleep. There are so many things that play a factor in fat loss. You might not want to admit it, but it's true. The longer you've been overweight, all of those things will now play a factor today.
Oftentimes people will say, "I did the diet ten years ago, and I dropped weight like this. But then ten years later, it's different". And I'm like, "Yeah, your body is now ten years older"...
I mean you don't need to blame it on age, but if you've been carrying around the weight for ten or more years, your body has to work through that. Just take a step back and say, "I'm eating healthier now. It will work, so I'm going to be patient. I'm going to pay attention to things like, 'Can I walk further?', 'How is my mental clarity?', 'Am I crabby or am I actually feeling better?', 'Do people say I'm happier?'"...
Food is fuel and it will really come out in your emotions and your attitude. So pay attention to those, the scale will serve as a guide but only step on it once a week, or once every two weeks. I know some of you would probably just get rid of it. Go put it in your trunk, give it to your neighbor, have your kids hide it in a closet. If you're focused on your food and doing your best, like drinking and eating less sugar, drinking more water, eating better foods, and not eating when you're not hungry. It will work, so don't get stressed out, I'm here to help and continue to tune into the page.
