Full Episode Transcript:
Hi, everybody! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie. We're going to dive into, two things that you need for success on your health journey. Two things I think you need, and actually there are a lot of things that you need. But two main things, as you get started and as you keep going... So where are you tuning in from? It is very snowy here in Minnesota, and it's actually beautiful. Our Lake has almost frozen over and it's a really wonderful day. So as you're tuning in, let's do this! What did you have for lunch? I would love to know what you had for lunch because it gives us ideas and it gives other ideas.
So let me know below, I need your participation. What did you have for lunch? It gives other people ideas as they're scrolling through to see what you had, and realize, "Oh, I had that too!". But really quick, this is not my tip of the day, but some quick ideas for lunch. Because that's something that most people are asking about like, "I don't know what to have for lunch", or "I'm bored of my same old lettuce wrap"...
So a couple of things that we've done are, tuna fish, egg salad, lettuce wraps, low carb wraps, usually leftovers, and salads. The biggest thing I want to tell people is, just because the clock says it's time to eat, doesn't mean you have to eat. You can eat when you're hungry, and you don't have to have this massive meal.
We think that lunch needs to look a certain way, but it could be like a cheese stick, a handful of almonds, maybe some beef sticks, some veggies, and dip, or a hard-boiled egg. Something super simple, don't overthink it. You eat when you're hungry, choose the best option that you have, and drink your water... Alright! What I really wanted to talk to you about is, two words that I think you're going to need as you're going into the new year, to stay on course...
But first of all, these are the ketones that I am drinking. It's called the Keto Up, in Unicorn Slam flavor. These ones are different than you normally drink, it's inside a can. Normally, I have a pack of ketones that I'm shaking up in water. We have our challenge kit, for those of you who've been asking how to get started now or very soon? When you get focused on your goals, we have an incredible challenge kit. It has ten caffeine, ten caffeine-free, and five different flavors. I've been drinking ketones for six and a half years, and this is the best place to start because you can try a variety of flavors.
You get to try it and you get to see what you think. There are a lot of ways that I drink ketones, and they're incredible. I call it my Mom Fuel. I only have a couple of these "Keto Ups" left, and very soon going into the new year we will have them restock.
For a very long time, our company had our own ketones in a can and then things happened in the world. We couldn't get them run, but now we have our own can-machine distribution center. So all of these things we will have up and running very soon. As soon as I have more of these, we can talk more about it. I'm drinking this Keto Up because I had a couple of them left and it's amazing. It does basically the same thing, except it's in the can. For those of you who have tried these Keto Ups, they're incredible. If you want to know more, I have something fun. If you want to know more about my mom fuel, post "Trial" in the comments. There are different ways that you can try these. There are the ones that you put in water and shake up. It's going to help you with your appetite, energy, focus, cravings, and mood. Ketones help with sleep, fat loss and so much more. It's an incredible product, and I have something new.
Did anybody catch it? We have a text message service and I put it in the header of this video. A phone number (507-204-9866) that you can text. You can text "Trials" to.
And every day, if you've opted in to the phone number, I'm going to take something that I had been reading, like "The 5 Second Rule" by Mel Robbins. We do mindset mornings every day, I listen to podcasts all the time, and I love to share with people. Not everybody hops on my live videos all the time. So if you want to receive something that will help you throughout your day, an inspirational quote, a thought from a book, or if you want to see some education, I'm going to be sending you a text message.
I can't promise you it'll be every day, because I have to get into the routine of sharing with you. But if you opt into the phone number, I will be sharing text messages and fun things with you until you don't want them anymore... We're just getting this started, you've got to give me a little bit of time to get used to it. This is the number, 507-204-9866, and I also put it in the header of the video. If you want to text trials to the phone number, you and I will chat. You can post trials below, and you and I will chat.
Mainly, it's going to be around your mindset. I'm going to send out, quotes and things from books, or if there's ever a sale on ketones I may throw that in there too. But it's going to be mostly about mindset. Here's the phone number (507-204-9866), it's going to be great...
All right! Here are the two words I want you to think about, as we're finishing this year and going into the new year. I actually read it this morning in this book, "The 5 Second Rule" by Mel Robbins, which I highly recommend for you to get. So two words, it's "Courage" and "Discipline". So many people want something, but they're not willing to do the work. They want to look a certain way, feel a certain way, fit in certain clothes, but they don't want to give up things.
Some would say, "I really want to lose this weight, but I really don't want to give up my dessert, my chips, or my coffee". Not that you can't have coffee, but the people that drink sugar with a little bit of coffee, those people. My girls will say, "Can we drive through Caribou". And I'd tell them, "Why? so you can drink one hundred twenty grams of sugar?". I'm that kind of Mom, who would say "Go grab some ketones"... They sometimes get it but not very often. Rarely ever, and it's usually with my sister. So here's what I want you to know and I want you to think about it. A keto tip for you is simply this, "You have to have tools in your personal tool belt". It's obviously invisible, but you've got to have tools to help you along the way. You've got to know where to find inspiration.
You've got to know how to have the discipline or the things that will help you with those words, "Courage" and "Discipline". Courage to get started, courage to stick with it when it's the Monday middle, or simply courage to finish. That's what this book is about, "The 5 Second Rule". It's just five seconds, take the action. Five seconds, before you talk yourself out of it.
Like you have to talk yourself out of going into that doughnut shop. "Courage and Discipline". It's going to take some discipline. You're not going to get to where you want to go, because it's not easy. There's usually a simple process, and there are baby steps that you have to do. But it's in that middle part where people either get bored and say, "It's not a big deal, it's just the weekend", "I know I was going to have some self-control and self-discipline but it's been two weeks, I deserve this" kind of attitude.
My husband said to me today, "Hey! Why don't you talk as fierce as you do, when you do everything else in your life?". He said, "You're very fierce!". Meaning, I'm very focused when it comes to my timeframes and morning. I do things in a very specific way. Don't mess with me in the mornings. I'm a very pleasant person, but I've got these things to do. My workout, have my ketones, read my Bible, and all of my other things. So do not mess with my morning. Then, with the girls' school, I'm very focused. I'd be like, "Nope, you have to do this!". I'm very outspoken about a lot of things, and if you are within my sphere of influence, you might say, "She's a lot". I usually get that comment a lot. Like, "She's very outspoken when she believes something". And my husband would ask me, "Why don't you talk like that to people when they're telling you all their excuses about their diet?". And I'm like, "I don't know! Maybe because I don't have letters behind my name, or I don't know"...
We'll see what comes out this next year. But if you're not willing to have the discipline, then find the tools that you need to keep you on track. If you're not willing to even stick with it for thirty, sixty, or ninety days. If you really want fat loss, you've got to do hard things.
You've got to give up certain foods and move your body. Eighty percent (80%) to ninety percent (90%) of fat loss is based on the food that you're eating. Does working out help? Yes! A hundred percent (100%), but you can't outwork a bad diet. It's the little things like, drink more water or eating less sugar. Take thirty minutes of your week, and plan your meals. Go to the grocery store, and tell yourself you're not going out to eat.
If you plan just a little bit and have a little bit of discipline, you will get to where you want to go. The more discipline you have, the faster it will go. The lesser discipline you have, the slower it will go. You've got to give it an ample amount of time. Here are a couple of tools that are very valuable. If your mindset isn't right then good luck! I don't even believe in luck. If you don't believe in yourself, you've got to fuel your mind first.
You have to read books. I have never been more passionate about, getting your mindset right, because then you're going to get everything right... Simple books like, "The 5-second rule". Tune in every single morning and I will read to you, or go on the text message thread, and I'll send you something throughout your day to encourage you. I'm going to give away some books tomorrow. This is a fun book that we did in April called, "Rain or Shine" by Scott Alexander. If you press the share button, let me know that you shared. I'll do some name drawings for some books I'm giving away, and that will be for the rest of the month because it's super important to me.
Another book that you could get, which we already did in September. Like, if you want to do a vision board, which most people do in January, then this is a really great book. It's called "Dream it. Pin it. Live it" by Terri Savelle Foy. This would be fun for you to do with your family, and it will help you dream for the next year. If you need some serious discipline, these books, like "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, you should just buy it for yourself for Christmas.
Go to Amazon, or go to a bookstore. Get yourself a gift of mindset, because if you can get your mindset right, everything else is going to fall into place. It's not easy but it's a simple process. This book, "Atomic Habits", will help you with incredible discipline. Creating habits is going to help you on your way. And you don't even have to carve out thirty to forty-five minutes to read a day. You can do it for five minutes, or you can read two pages a day and underline something. Think about it, and meditate on it throughout the day. If you really want an incredible book, that's super short. You can read "Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod. Look at how little it is, you can read it before going to work, or you can bring it with you in your car and read one page. You should get yourself this book, "Miracle Morning", as a Christmas present. Own your morning, own your day...
I want you to know that you can do this. You can reach your goals, your dreams, and go after your visions, and the passions that you have. You can lose weight, you can feel healthier, you can get that, but you have to believe in yourself. You might say, "I don't know if I can". Yes! You can! And you're going to have to do it for yourself, and then do it for other people. Start by looking at yourself in the mirror, and you might feel like you're lying to yourself. But look in the mirror and say, "I'm worth this", and "I love you".
Have you ever told yourself that you love yourself? It's kind of awkward but not like in a self-absorbed way. I mean, how can you pour into other people, if you don't feel good about yourself? How do you give to other people? How do you share with other people if you're not overflowing? If you're trying to fix everybody else, but you're not looking at yourself. Maybe this year is a focus on you, and not in a selfish way, but in a mindset way. I know people like self-care, but you don't have to go away for days, weeks and spend a bazillion dollars on yourself. That's not self-care, some people think it is.
But self-care is working on your mindset. Focus on things like, "I need to get up in the morning", "I need to read", "I need to take care of myself, so I can take care of my family"... The keto tip of the day is simply this, the way that you look at yourself will be dependent on the things that you think about yourself, and the words you speak about yourself.
So do some reflection, "What am I thinking of myself?", and "What am I speaking about myself?"... That's probably how you would look right now. I hope that didn't sound rude. I think you all are amazing and I'm here to help. I am super passionate about giving you a teeny tiny bit of inspiration that can help you take the next step and do the next thing.
Five seconds of courage. Find the discipline to say no or yes, to join something, to quit something, to not go somewhere, or to do something different. Discipline, for one year. What if you did the best that you could for an entire year, and you came back here next year before Christmas, and you're a completely different person? Physically, emotionally, spiritually, and even financially. That'd be crazy! If you did it for one year? Is it worth the rest of your life? Yes, a hundred percent!...
Alright, that's what I have for you today. Mindset is important. Don't overthink it. You need courage and discipline. Continue to tune in here, I've got lots of tips and tricks. And also, I will send you messages if you want to start receiving messages. I will be starting it soon, I've got to figure out how it works, but I have it all set up.
Here's the phone number 507-204-9866. All you have to do is opt-in. You can either opt-in and text "Trials" or just text "Keto Mom".
It'll be great. I'll get more information as I know more. I hope you guys have an incredible day. Again, press the share button and let me know if you shared. I'll do a drawing tomorrow for some books. I hope you have a wonderful day and we'll talk to you soon. Bye!
