Keto Tip (77): How To Get Back On Track

Oftentimes people go backwards if they have something in their day that did not go right. What do they start doing? They eat out of their emotions, get super crabby, eat out of anger, or they go through a drive-thru. Some people just throw their hands up and give up. The number one thing that will set your day and set your course is owning your morning. Plus your EQ (emotional quotient), or how well you handle your emotions.

Hey, everybody! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie and we are going to talk about "When your day doesn't go the way that you planned it, does that mean we wrecked our entire day?"

So as you're tuning in, I'm making chili and getting supper ready early, because we're heading to CrossFit later today.

I did not get up this morning, and I let my day own me.

I did not get up and do my Miracle Morning.

I did not get up and read.

I did not even get up and do my Keto Mom live video.

𝗜 𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗻𝗼𝗼𝘇𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱.

And so I wanted to talk about that as we're making dinner. First of all, how is your day going? Does anybody else feel a little behind? That's totally fine, and I apologize for those who usually get up in the mornings and waited for me.

How's your day going, and what are you having for dinner? I'm making chili, it's just meat and add any vegetables that you want. I use RAO's homemade chili sauce. It's the most random chili ever, so don't overthink it. Brown some hamburger, throw in a couple of RAO's sauce in there. I like this sauce because it has the least amount of sugar and carbs in it. You can season it with salt and pepper, throw in your vegetables, and it's done.

"𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶?"
I use 3 pounds of hamburger, I use 2 jars of RAO's, and we make ours really chunky. So it's not saucy at all. So super chunky three pounds of hamburger, and 2 things of whatever vegetables you want.

Alright! So we've basically been traveling for almost three weeks between Florida and then our recent trip from Kentucky. We were kind of sleep deprived and just trying to get back into our routine.

With all of that said, I know better. Isn't it funny how we know what to do? If I were to ask you...

Do you know how to eat healthy?

Do you know how to eat better?

Do you know that you need to drink more water?

If everything that you knew to do today, could get you to where you want to go? Would you do it?
You know what you need to do, it's just a matter of the discipline.

𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝗽, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂.
If I do not get up in the morning before my kids and get the stuff done that I need to get done, I'm going to have to choose my attitude.

Here's the biggest lesson I had to check myself. I want you to know that if you got up in the morning and hit the snooze button, or maybe didn't make the greatest choice for lunch. Maybe you had to go through the drive-thru, yelled at your kids, or you might have done something that was not your best choice. Oftentimes people go backwards if they have something in their day that did not go right.

And what do they start doing? They eat out of their emotions, get super crabby, eat out of anger, or they go through a drive-thru. Some people just throw their hands up in the air and give up, "That's it, I'm done! I'll restart tomorrow".

So I had to coach myself today as I was trying to catch up... I wasn't able to get school started with the girls until 10. I was super frustrated because I didn't do the Keto Mom FB live.

I had to stop for a second and tell myself that just because I hit the snooze, and my morning did not go the way I wanted it to, doesn't mean I have to be crabby.
It doesn't mean I have to go eat out of my emotions. It doesn't mean I wrecked the rest of my day.

I want some of you to understand that just because there is one instance, one drive thru, one cookie, or one day of not going to the gym. It doesn't have to wreck your day or the rest of your week. It doesn't have to get into your mind.

You've got to coach yourself to get out of it.

𝗦𝗼 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆. 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁!

And all day, I've been coaching myself of what needs to get done next, what is my next step? Oftentimes, we're so frustrated of trying to prep our meals, or we need to go to the grocery store.

I told my husband that I was just going to skip CrossFit today. I'm just going to go to the grocery store instead, while the girls go to cross fit. I'm trying to catch up on school, I've got laundry and all of the things. My husband was like, "You have an hour, or almost two hours to get groceries done and prep supper up, before you go to CrossFit. Why don't you go right now".

I had to take a deep brath, because in my head I said I'll just skip CrossFit and I'll get everything done. And my husband said "You don't have to skip CrossFit. Just go a little bit later, and you can still get everything done in this window of time".

𝗠𝘆 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆! 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘁.

I didn't get anything else done this afternoon, because I made myself put my phone down. I didn't allow myself to do the Keto Mom FB live because priorities are never in conflict. My kids are the priority, so I got to homeschool our kids.

I want you to know that when you feel like it's not going your way, you didn't choose your best meal, or best attitude. It really does come down to your mindset and your discipline. You can choose your attitude.
You don't have to wreck the rest of your day and so your day is not going to be wrecked.

Your morning is important! My morning is important! If I have not gotten this message across to you, in all of the years that I have been sharing on social media, then let me tell you now. Yes! It's important to eat healthy, drink your water, and move your body.

But the number one thing that will set your day and set your course is owning your morning. Plus your EQ (emotional quotient), or how well you handle your emotions.

𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆.
When life happens, just say "To be expected". Handle your emotions, do not react in the situation but respond the best way that you can.

If you have questions, let me know and wwe'll chat. I will come back, do the best that I can in the mornings to hopefully encourage you. I've got to get up even earlier, because I can't stand being behind. I have to own my day, and I want to encourage the Keto community.

If you want to accomplish something or if you have goals, then you've got to change your schedule, change your mindset, and you've got to make a shift to get out of your comfort zone.

I need my kids to get back on track for school, so I need to get up at around 5:30 or 6 in the morning.

Will it be uncomfortable? Yes!
Will I need to go to bed early? Yes!
Will I not be able to talk to all of you super late at night? Yes!

I'm going to have to prioritize and some of you have to do the same. And so I'm coaching and preaching to myself. There are things that might throw our schedules off, but we just need discipline.

𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁.

I'm going to go to CrossFit, and eat my chili later tonight. It's all going to be incredible! I am not perfect, and our family is not perfect, but we do the best that we can.

Sometimes it's a mess. Sometimes today is a perfect day, and how I wish everyday could go this way. But the next day we usually are a mess. Just take some messy action.

If you don't know where to get started or you're brand new, you can message me. If you need some recipes or a guide on how to get started, then you can go to ketomomsecrets.com. Just take the messy action, or just do something to help you reach your goals!

That's it for me, I hope all of you have a great day. We'll talk to you soon, Bye everybody!
