Introduction: The WHO Before The Do!

"The good news is that we can learn how to change, but we're going to start with you. You need to experience change that actually lasts. We have to focus on the 'WHO', not the 'DO'. ~ Craig Groeschel

We're diving into the intro of this new book. Happy Valentine's Day! Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? I jokingly say it's Target's holiday. Are you going out? Do you do gifts? What do you do for Valentine's Day? I told my kids that we took them to the Bahamas, and that was our gift to them.

If you found yourself here on Keto Mom hear at any point in time, you can send me a message or ask questions. There are tons of recipes or tips on how to get started. If you want to learn about keto tips, food, lifestyle, ketones, or even mindset, I do that in the mornings. You can go to ketomomsecrets.com, or you can ask me any questions.

THE POWER TO CHANGE (CRAIG GROESCHEL)

Some of you were saying that your book should be arriving today, Wednesday, or Thursday. I know that you want your book in hand, so I'm just going to go through the intro of the book. I'll wait for some of you to get your books in hand, but I do want to give you just a thought for the day from the intro, and then you can take action on it if you choose to do it.

If you're reading any self-development books to help you set goals, you're going to hear most authors say that your mindset is important, and the way you think is important. They've studied it from a science level and it's also biblical.

This is going to be about the power to change.

It's going to start with your thinking and understanding of who you are, and not just trying to switch the habits of "The Do", but understanding "The WHO".

INTRO

"If you've never seen transformation if you've been wanting to see the transformation and it's been years, why assume you will see the transformation and change in the future? How will something change if nothing changes? Tragically, this is where many people give up. They say to themselves, I can't change so I'm going to stop trying".

I don't want that to be you and I believe that everybody on the Keto Mom page is striving after better so that you can pour into others. This isn't about being selfish, I do believe that self-care is important but I think it can go a little overboard. It's important to take care of yourself and your mindset so that you can overflow into the other people all around you.

"The good news is that we can learn how to change, but we're going to start with you. You need to experience change that actually lasts. We have to focus on the 'WHO', not the 'DO'.

The "WHO" is "YOU"

What is your identity? How do you see yourself? Because out of that, you will be able to create healthy habits, different systems, and long-lasting change.

EXERCISE

Here's the exercise if want to participate. Whether you have the book or not, if you're playing full out and you really want change in your life, you're going to do the exercise and do the actions.

There's so much information out there, whether you're watching me on the Keto Mom page, reading books, or watching so many other people that talk about keto and low carb and getting healthy. So he gives you an action step to take action on. If you're a consumer of knowledge, books, and listening to people, that's incredible. Because, if you don't actually take what you learned and put it into action, then there's no reason to learn it. The point is to put it into action.

FIRST EXERCISE

"We have to lay some groundwork by personalizing what you're going to do. I'm going to ask you to write down the behaviors that you want to change. I want you to forget the times that you've attempted to initially change. I want you to wipe the slate clean, allow yourself some grace, and agree to make some new beginnings. You may have the same goals, but you'll have to refresh your approach. Consider any change you desire, even one you may have given up a long time ago, and let's get resetting".

ACTION STEPS

Write down your "STARTS", or the behaviors that you want to change.

Write down your "STOP", or the behaviors you want to get rid of.

Examples:

  • Grow your commitments

  • Lose 20 pounds

  • Feel closer to God

  • Breathe new life into your marriage

  • Get out of debt

  • Be consistent in your Bible readings

  • Escape toxic relationships

  • Exercise

What do you want to start?

We're not thinking about the past, we're not reminiscing over the things that we've not done. We're not looking at the New Year's resolutions saying we've already quit. All we're going to do is start with this book and these action steps.

What do you want to stop?

I want to stop stressing.

I want to stop showing frustration.

I want to stop being impatient.

I want to stop being late.

I want to stop overeating and drinking excessively.

I want to stop procrastination and thinking negatively.

So all you're going to do from now until you get your book is start with part one. This is just the introduction, so get a piece of paper, write down all those steps, and keep it in your book.

You can write down "I'm going to start", "Here's where I want to start", and "Here are some things I want to stop"... Make a list, even if it's one thing, write it down because it's going to be super important. For the next couple of days, just continue to tune in and we'll start part one of the book.

"Here's the truth that you need to embrace if you're ever going to change. You do what you do because of what you think of you".

It all goes back to the books that we've been going through for the last two years. If you get up and you're thinking "I have to", "I don't want to", "I can't believe this", or you're griping about your day. Then how do you think your day is going to go?

Try to get up and say, "This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it". Force it out of yourself even if your morning hasn't gone your way, choose to make yourself smile. Your mindset is important.

"As I think so I feel. As I feel so I do. As I do so I have. "...

What you think creates a feeling, what you feel creates action, and what you do is the result of what you will have. It's going to be an incredible day because we're choosing for it to be an incredible day. Your attitude is important and you should pay attention to your thoughts. Continue to tune in, and you can always go to ketomomsecrets.com. Click on recipes, tips on how to get started, or trials on ketones. If you want to try my mom fuel, send me a message. I hope you guys have a great day. We'll talk to you soon. Bye, everybody!
