Fasting helps rest and reset your body. I believe fasting helps you truly understand that you don't have to be controlled by food. It helps you understand what is true hunger is and Mindset over matter. It helps you understand that Food is fuel. "I'm going to be in control of when I eat", "I'm not going to eat out of habit", "I'm not going to eat out of boredom", "I'm not going to eat because the clock says to eat"... It can be super great, especially for those who are just kick starting their journey. If you reach a plateau, it can help you get past a plateau.

All right! Welcome to the Keto Mom page, we are doing something a little different. Today we are doing a noon tasting, so welcome to your noon tasting and a Keto tip. Why? Because I am leaving the house and going to a women's event with my mom, today and tomorrow. So I will not be here at two o'clock. If you're brand new, welcome to the Keto Mom page and Happy October 1st. Where are you tuning in from? It's actually lunchtime and I always say "If you're not hungry, don't eat". But if you're having lunch, what are you making or having? What did we have? Hot dogs! Something super simple. I think my kids just had hot dogs. All right! I am shaking up an afternoon Ketone. I found one of the seasonal flavors hiding in the cupboard. It's my very last one, Cotton Candy so I'm going to shake this one up.
And we're going to talk really quick about Fasting. Oftentimes people would say "Do I have to fast right away?", "Do I have to fast at all?", "Do I have to intermittent fast every day?", "What does that look like?"... I want you to just think of fasting.
There's lots of different ways... There's Intermittent Fasting, where basically you stop eating. You stop eating at supper time, and then you go fourteen to sixteen hours and you eat at lunchtime the following day. It's really resting and resetting your body. There is a ton of science behind it. If you were to even just go in Google or to PubMed, you can look at some different research. You can see some great information on Intermittent Fasting.
So who does that? I'm curious. Do you eat breakfast or do you intermittent fast? I do both. I don't intermittent fast everyday, but probably two to three days a week. Normally two to three days a week. Otherwise, when I workout, after I'm done working out, I usually have a protein shake and it's great. So I would love to know, if you intermittent fast? Yes or No.
There's a couple different Fasts I often get asked about like "Have I ever done a water fast?" No. "Have I ever done the popular egg fast?" It's where you just eat eggs for every single meal for a week, or maybe it's three days. No, I've never done that. What I have done is Intermittent Fasting, a 24 Hour Fast, which I'll show you later and I have done a 60 Hour. So there are different things that you can utilize during Fasts. Some would say you can't have anything that has calories in it. I drink Ketones or broth during my fast and it doesn't break my fast.

And so what I do is "Fasting"... Why fast? It helps with fat loss. It truly helps us and so many different benefits. I have done a 24 and a 60 reboot. In fact, you can actually join us for the next one. It looks like this, but in the box. This is a 60 hour and it's called the 60 hour Keto Reboot. You drink everything in the box. So it has my mom fuel. It has this different flavors. It has electrolytes, it has our broth, which you drink for your lunch and your dinner. Some pills, they're called A.M., P.M. pills.
This is incredible, because we do it as a community. I'm not just drinking water, I have the nutrients, electrolytes, and I have Ketones. I have things to help sustain me throughout the day. So I truly think that a fast, if done properly, if you do a reboot, or we have a 24 hour fast. If you do these properly, you will actually feel great. You will feel a different type of energy. It's like a clean fuel. It's really pretty incredible.
So if you want to know more, whether you decide to intermittent fast, and that's just something everybody can do. Whether it's not eating after supper, going fourteen to sixteen hours and going into the next day eating lunch. Or I've never done the egg fast, I will never do a water fast. I will always drink Ketones, because it helps suppress my appetite, turns my brain on and gives me the energy. So I feel like I can actually do it without grumbling or complaining. The first time I ever wanted to do this, my girls said "Mom, I think it's a terrible idea". And I was like "I can totally do it". And they were like "You get really hangry and I think that you should eat"... I proved them wrong, I totally can do it.
So whether your goal is a 24, or a 60 hour, whether your goal is to start intermittent fasting a couple days a week, you figure out what works best for you. Whether it's getting past a plateau or kick starting your journey. Or if you really need a craving and you need to control your habits like indulging in food.

Here's the deal, do you have to fast when you're doing Keto and Low Carb? No. I did not fast for probably two years, if not longer. We've been doing this lifestyle for six and a half years. The thought of not eating made me go "Why would I ever do that? I love to eat. Why would I not want to eat?"... And so if you don't want to not eat, maybe you like me, get hangry. I don't anymore, but I used to get pretty angry if I didn't have any food.
So if that is not appealing to you at all, we can work on drinking Ketones. It's super powerful. Drinking ketones in the morning or in the afternoon. Drinking more water and eating low carb or Keto meals or just eating better. So if you don't want to fast, but you do need some help on your journey. Whether it's just with food, or drinking Ketones once or twice a day. It is incredible. It is a tool, it puts you in Ketosis in under an hour. You're going to have all of those benefits and then you're going to have help with your appetite. You're going to find yourself not snacking as much, you're going to have the energy to play with your kids. The brain focus to focus in that meeting or homeschool them, whatever the case may be.
