"When Warren Buffett was asked to boil the boil the keys to his success down to one single principle, this is what he said. 'For every 100 great opportunities that were brought to me. I said no to 99 of them'. He attributed his success to his ability to say no. In other words, the ability to stay focused". ~Terri Savelle Foy
Welcome to the Keto Mom page, my name is Stephanie. We were still going through "Dream It, Pin It, Live It" by Terri Savelle Foy. If you want to set goals for next year, be highly effective, and hit your goals, and if you want help creating a vision board, then this is an incredible book for you.
You can also go to ketomomsecrets.com all one word, click on Book Club and you can go through the book with us.
Are you ready for your thought of the day?
Why do we read?
Why do we go through books?
Why do we listen to podcasts?
Why do you?
Why are you here?
My hope is that you understand the power of thinking, the power of your mindset, and the power of gratitude, and you can really truly set the course of your day. The course of your day is usually set by your thoughts.
"Focus is the key word in this chapter. If you want to come to the end of this next year with great results, then you must be highly focused. Focus is the opposite of distraction".
"I had challenged you to write down 101 things, and then narrowed it down to 10. We talked about 10 things that you can put on the vision board that you can accomplish in 12 to 18 months".
Warren Buffett has a method that helped him achieve his unsurmountable success. He recommends writing out your priorities, narrowing the list down to three, and throwing the rest away...
I don't want you to throw those seven goals away, but it's good to put them as a priority.
What do you want to focus on?
What do you see yourself accomplishing first?
What is the priority?
"When Warren Buffett was asked to boil the keys to his success down to one single principle, this is what he said. 'For every 100 great opportunities that were brought to me. I said no to 99 of them. He attributed his success to his ability to say no. In other words, the ability to stay focused".
When you have your goals focused for this year and you have your vision board set, but somebody invites you to do things or go places. What is your priority? Let's say it might be around your gym time, and somebody asks you to grab a half-priced appetizer with them. You might want to say yes to catching up with that person, but your priority is to go to the gym. You already promised it to yourself, you already set it as a goal, and you've got your time set.
Be focused and go after that goal. That's where you would say "No, thank you for the offer but this is actually my gym time. Can we do it another time?"...
Oftentimes, we dive into saying yes to everything that might not actually line up with our goals. But we want to say yes because we want to say yes to everything.
"Deciding and what not to do is as important as deciding on what to do".
So when you're focusing on your 10 goals, getting specific, and making these S.M.A.R.T. goals. You have to have that in front of you so that when somebody unintentionally wants to mess up your schedule, you've got to be able to say "No" to some things. You can say yes to the right things.
What will you start saying no to in order to achieve your most important goals this next year?
Maybe you need to say no to going out to fast food or going out to eat. Or maybe you need to say no to placing a phone in your room so that you don't hit the snooze button. Placing your phone in a bathroom or someplace where you actually have to get up because it gets you out of bed.
Maybe you need to say no to certain things that are not helping you reach your goals. Only you know what those are, and you'll have a whole bunch of opportunities for you to say yes and to deviate from your goals.
So it's just an awareness, it's a thought. That's what I wanted to share with you today. We will probably finish this book by tomorrow. But we're going to start talking about what your boards actually look like. So continue to tune into the page, we're creating our vision boards this weekend and I'll share pictures as we're doing it.
