I just want you to be aware that lunchtime doesn't have to be a huge meal. If you're not hungry, you don't have to eat that much. You can have a hard-boiled egg, maybe some pickles, a cheese stick, or a beef stick. You don't have to have this extravagant lunch.

Hey everybody! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. We're going to talk about lunch real quick. Why? Because I actually got a handful of lunch questions today, and I thought it was a good question. I'm going to share the answer with you as I'm making my kids some hot dogs. No buns, because my kids don't even like buns. We're currently making lunch and we're having hotdogs, a salad, and something super simple. We are going out to hibachi tonight for supper, that's why we're just throwing a simple lunch together.
We're taking the girls out later, and this is what they're having, for now, some hotdogs and veggies in the air fryer. And yes, I'm still in my pajamas, I'll change soon... As you're tuning in, "What are you having for lunch?". I want you to it post below.
Why? Because it gives other people ideas as they're scrolling through. Some might say, "I haven't had tuna fish in a long time", "I love egg salad, I forgot about egg salad", "A low carb wrap on a low carb tortilla, or a lettuce wrap", or "A salad, I love a Cobb salad with no croutons and dressing on the side"... "What are you having for lunch?" The question I want to talk about, real quick...
Somebody messaged me earlier today, she said, "Hey, do you think I should skip lunch, or should I have a light salad?". I told her, "It's honestly up to you"... What does that mean? I'm speaking from someone who is in the United States. So if you're not from the United States and you're from somewhere else, or maybe this isn't your mindset. I would say a majority of people have this for their mindset for lunch and dinner. Like "It's lunchtime, I have to eat", "I better get myself a meal with two sides", or "I better make sure I have this big plate of food because it's lunchtime or dinner time"...
And all I want you to think of is, it might be noon or maybe you've intermittent fasted all day. Yes, it's time for you to eat, but are you hungry?...
So I messaged this girl, and we've been talking back and forth all morning. I told her, "Listen, are you hungry? What does your nighttime look like?"... For us, we know we're going to Hibachi. We know we're going out, but I'm actually not hungry right now... Here's what I think, we have in our mindset that we need to eat a big meal, lunch, or dinner. That it needs to look a certain way, fill up our plate, a large salad, or two sides.
When lunchtime or mealtime comes around, just take five seconds and ask yourself, "Am I really hungry?", or "What is my lunch going to look like?"... Maybe you're not super hungry, maybe you're going out to eat like I am. So, a cheese stick and a handful of almonds should be sufficient.
I told my husband that I'm actually not super hungry, but I could have something for a little bit because we won't be eating till 6:30 tonight. I'm going to have a protein shake and I'm mixing it with some Keto Kreme, like an MCT, it's coconut oil. I'm going to have this because I'm going to enjoy my Hibachi.
I know people are going to ask me, after I take a picture of our Hibachi, "Did you eat the rice?". Personally, I actually don't love rice but I'll eat all of the steaks. I love the veggies and then I'll probably eat a little amount of rice. They usually give me a cup of rice, I like to have a little bit of it, that's my plan... So, I just want you to be aware that lunchtime doesn't have to be a huge meal. If you're not hungry, you don't have to eat that much. You can have a hard-boiled egg, maybe some pickles, a cheese stick, or a beef stick. You don't have to have this extravagant lunch. If you're hungry, you've been doing intermittent fasting, you ate really early yesterday and you haven't eaten. Then you can have a big salad, and you're going to enjoy it. I don't want you to think that it has to look a certain way, like a huge meal, instead, it has to fit what you need.
Of course, you're going to drink your water, be mindful of taking the buns off the burgers or eating the hot dog without the bun. That's actually what my kids are going to eat, with a salad or a veggie. It's not about perfection, it's about sticking with this long term, for the rest of your life, feeling great...
So I need to know, "What are you having for lunch?"... I'm having a protein shake, my kids are having hot dogs, and we're going out for dinner tonight... What are you doing for dinner? It's a Friday night! Is anybody going on a date? Like a family date, or with your spouse? If so, what is your favorite place to go to, and what do you like to eat?
We love Hibachi! Have you guys ever done it? It's where they sit and cook in front of you? You'll have to watch my stories, it's so much fun. It's a fun special evening to take your kids to. It's seriously fun, especially if you get a good cook... Anyways! I just wanted to hop on here real quick because I can't do my two o'clock tasting and keto tip later. We're going to go see a movie, and then hibachi. I will be out and about with my children. We're already done with school, and yes I homeschool. I'll be changing out of my jammies, and I'm going to have a super fun Friday. I would love to know what you're doing?
