When You Feel Like Quitting: A Letter to the Mom Who Is Struggling

Hey mama. I see you.

I see you showing up every day for everyone else and running on empty. I see you trying to eat better and feeling like you keep messing up. I see you scrolling social media at midnight wondering why it seems so easy for everyone else and so hard for you.

I have been there. More times than I can count. And I want to tell you something that I wish someone had told me years ago:

You are not failing. You are in the middle of your story.

The Messy Middle Is Where Growth Happens

Nobody posts about the messy middle. Nobody shows you the nights they cried in the pantry or ate the kids' leftover mac and cheese standing over the sink. But that is real life. And real life is not disqualifying — it is qualifying. Every hard moment is teaching you something about who you are becoming.

Progress Is Not Always Visible

You might not see it yet. The scale might not have moved. Your jeans might still feel tight. But if you chose water over soda today, that is progress. If you went for a walk even though you did not feel like it, that is progress. If you are reading this right now instead of giving up, that is progress.

God is not measuring your worth by your waistline. He is looking at your heart. And the fact that your heart keeps trying? That tells me everything I need to know about you.

What I Do When I Want to Quit

I pray. Not some fancy prayer — just an honest one. "God, I am tired. Help me keep going." And then I do one small thing. Not ten things. One. Drink a glass of water. Go for a 10-minute walk. Text a friend. Make one healthy choice and let that be enough for today.

Because here is what I have learned after years of this journey: consistency is not about never messing up. It is about always getting back up. It is about grace upon grace upon grace.

You Were Made for More Than This Season

This hard season is not your forever season. You are not stuck. You are growing. And the woman you are becoming on the other side of this — she is worth every single hard day.

So do not quit. Not today. Take it one meal, one choice, one prayer at a time. And know that you are not doing this alone. This whole community is behind you, and so am I.

If you need someone in your corner, comment ME below. I mean it. Let me show up for you the way someone showed up for me.

Tell me one win you had this week — big or small. I want to celebrate you.
