Time To Create Your Vision Board (Dream It, Pin It, Live It! by Terri Savell Foy)

"After you design your vision board, it's important that you keep these visions in front of you constantly. The more you look at the images on your future vision board, the more you desire them. The more you desire them, the more you persistently work towards them and they're going to be fulfilled" ~Terri Savell Foy

Welcome to the Keto Mom page! In the mornings, I really like to go through a book or something to help you start your day. off. If you started your day and it's not going so well, I'd like to help you make better choices every day.

  • I choose my attitude.

  • I choose the food I eat.

  • I choose the people I talk to.

You have the choice to be crabby, to yell at somebody, or to be kind. So if you feel behind, or maybe revisiting something that happened this weekend, whatever it is. I want you to just to breathe for a second, and say "Today's going to be a great day".

This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. You sometimes have to be your own cheerleader.

So, we've been going through "Dream It, Pin It, Live It" by Terri Savell Foy. We have been talking about writing down your goals, brainstorming, and what you want for 2023. What are some desires in your heart, places you want to go, people you want to see, or things you want to do?

CHAPTER 5: The Power Of Vision Boards

We've already gone through the brainstorming and writing things out. We've gone through getting specific, putting dates to it, and making sure it's measurable.

One of the action steps in the bool was to write out 101 things you wanted to achieve, and then narrow it down to 10. And you need to write those 10 things down every day for 30 days. This morning, I saw my journal, I was reading through the book, I was getting ready, but I said "I'll do it later, I'll write my 10 things down later".

Well, sometimes later never comes.

I already had my journal with me, so I opened it up and I wrote my 10 things down. And I was so glad I did that because there were some things that I needed a reminder of.

The vision board that you are going to create from now until the end of the year with the specific 10 goals that you're going to do, if you get up and and write them down, it will serve as a reminder.

We like to do a remember wall because it's easy to do things and it's easy to not do them. It was easy for me to sit there for two seconds and say "I'm not going to write this out, I'll do it later". And then I realized, that was what most people do and they end up not doing it. So I sat down and I wrote my 10 goals.

𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.
  • I'm going to write every day

  • I'm going to create certain things next year.

  • I have a certain business goal

  • I have a health goal

  • This is what I want to do with my physical health

When I right it down, it's in me in the morning and it helps me make better decisions to help me have a positive attitude. It reminds me of the things that I want to do. And as I go throughout my day, my choices are made based on those 10 goals for the year.

I was reminded of a remember wall, which we've done for years. I've done it in different ways, but what I really love is to put a whole bunch of paper tape to a door for the whole year. I wrote 2022 this year, I had it on paper but it was on my desk and it was easily hidden.

I'm going to tape it up this year, because when I see it I will remember it . So a remember wall is simply putting up everything that we are blessed with, like miracles and prayers answered. Even down to the smallest things, like how we were blessed with a ton of dirt this year, or like if somebody paid for my coffee.

We like to write those things down month by month, and that's what a remember wall is.
I'm going to put it back up for this year just to acknowledge the simplicity and the small actions of people. Simple things like, somebody held the door for you, the smiles, or somebody grabbed you lunch.

Big or small, there are things that you should be thankful for because there are miracles all around you. There are things you're praying for right now that you might come to pass and there are things that you're believing for, so we can be thankful in the moment.

The next day, the next week, or the next month comes, you forget and you get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. You get caught up in the next goal or maybe the next challenge. But when you write things down or put it up on your remember wall, and you have one of those bad days, you can go back to your remember wall and be reminded.

𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱.

Let's say you had a bad day in April, you can just go back to January, February, or March and be reminded that you are so blessed. It helps you with a heart of gratitude.

The point of this book is doing the actions. It's not only to help you create and go after the things you want, but to actually go after the things that you want. I want you to create, dream, and do the action steps if you will have goals for this next year.

If you're just keeping them up in your mind, they're going to stay up in your mind.

This book has a ton of great statistics and analogies.

  • Are you sitting in the sidelines, or are you in the game?

  • Are you the passenger seat in your life, or are you the driver?

  • Are you going to be anywhere from 1 to 3% of people that accomplish their goals, or the 97% who don't?

So we are on the point of creating and why it is important to display your vision to create a vision board to print out the pictures to actually do the work.

"After you design your vision board, it's important that you keep these visions in front of you constantly".

This is not something that you start January 1st and then just put it away in a drawer. My girls have them taped on their walls. I was so good at this last year but I kind of let it go. I had a vision board, but I clearly didn't hang it up. So I'm going to go search for mine because it's in a drawer somewhere.

Last September, I wrote out some of my goals, dreams, verses, and quotes. I had a couple goals, and we actually just reached them from September until the end of the year. I saw them and I focused on them.
"Your mind always moves towards the dominating images in your mind as you keep before your eyes".

How many of you are writing out your goals for next year dreaming? And how many of you actually can create a vision board?

"The more you look at the images on your future vision board, the more you desire them. The more you desire them, the more you persistently work towards them. They're going to be fulfilled"...

𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁.
It's in the front of me, I still have to create the vision board, but even as I'm journaling, it reminds me of what I'm wanting to go after. Therefore helping me make better decisions, either good or better decisions.

We've got a couple of things coming up next year that are good. But it might not be the best decision or our best, so we're praying about it. There are good things, and there are better things. There are things that you want to do, but it might not be in the season of why you need to do them.

"This is your visual reminder of what you are expecting to accomplish in 2023. You may need to place your vision board in a private place so that others aren't viewing it if it's special to you. Or it could be where everybody sees it and they can help hold you accountable. It's up to you".
"Your vision board may not be placed where anybody else sees , but it needs to be placed where you see it".

The author also gave some incredible Bible verses that backup visions and dreaming. There's also science behind it. Whichever way you decide to see it, understand that there is research on the power of the brain with the things that you see and what you put in front of you.

"Your vision is for your future. You need to meditate on it day and night. You can say the images that you think on deeply, the things that you focus on and engage in, are showing you who you really are. The point is, whatever you focus on will eventually develop in your life".

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁, 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.

What is visualization?

"It is simply the use of images through pictures are mental images to create a vision of what you want in your life".

Your mind is activated on pictures. If you want a new car, you don't think C.A.R, you think of what kind of car you want. You probably picture a truck, van, or something fancy. Whatever it is, you think through pictures.

It's the same way with how you want to look. Say, you won't lose 50 pounds, I bet some of you have a visual of how you want to look. Let's make sure it's not a photoshopped image on Instagram.

Some of you might want to create a "Health" vision board this year. It can be made of all of the actions you're going to do, and the things you're committed to do.

Our friend Brian messaged my husband and said, "Hey, I'm going to do a 15k mud run, it's like some crazy obstacle thing in July, would you like to do with me?" And my husband was like, "One of my best friends is doing this, he wants me to do it with him, but I am not prepared". And then he asked me, "Stephanie, do you think I can do it?"... I said, "No". And so I apologized and I said, "Okay, yes I do".

Remember, when you're going to do things for a long period of time and you don't do them, you might have people in your life that tell you you've already done all of that.

But it's going to change this time because you have your S.M.A.R.T goals written down, you're going to have a vision board, it's going to stay in front of you and you're going to dominate it.

So my husband wrote down the goal and committed to the goal. He bought the the the race which is like nine miles with 30 obstacles. He didn't wait till January to start training. He got up and went to the treadmill. He did three miles like, on and off. Yesterday, he got up in the morning, and he ran again.

When you share your vision with other people, they might give you a hard time. But it also helps people hold you accountable.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁, 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀.

We haven't created our vision boards yet, but we're working on it. Right now we're journaling, brainstorming, and we're getting specific on what we want to commit to for next year. That's what I want you to do now, so that you hit the ground running.

VISUALIZATION

  • When you're hungry, visualize what you want to eat.

  • When you plan a vacation, visualize where you want to go.

  • When you have a big event, visualize the type of clothing you're going to wear.

Your mind thinks in images, so start thinking of the pictures that you want, get them off the internet, and start printing them out. What happens out there is a result of what happens in your mind.

"As I think so I feel. As I feel so I do. As I do so I have"

Get your thinking right, choose your goals, and get all of that on a piece of paper so we can start creating.

ACTION STEP: Schedule a time in the next seven days to go somewhere and be alone. Get into a quiet space, close your eyes, and see yourself up to obtaining these dreams that God has put into your heart.

So I hope you guys have a wonderful morning and please reach out with questions. We'll continue to go through the book and we'll talk to you soon.
