The Power of Writing (Dream It, Pin It, Live It! by Terri Savell Foy)

Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie, And we're "Dream It, Pin It, Live It" by Terri Savell Foy. We're going through chapter two, and we're going to be dreaming and talking about vision boards.

We're going to talk about 2023, but we're not going to wait for 2023. I want to start right now, and help you understand the power of vision, dreaming and writing it down.

Yesterday, we talked about an action step that the author gave you. Just sit quietly for a maximum of 10 minutes and just start dreaming and imagining your future. You don't even have to write it down...

If all you want to focuse on is your health, then let's start there, it's totally fine. A handful of you have decided to actually get off the stands, get on the field, and actually get focused in your own life. So are you going to let other people control your life? Or are you going to have vision and direction for your own life?

CHAPTER 2: The Power of A Pen.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.

The author gave us a ton of different stories about people who achieved a lot of success, over time. Whatever success means to you, but for them it would be like Jim Carrey on how his story started and where it is today.

In each story of people that you might look at, watch on TV or on social media. Each one of these individuals had the courage to write down their dreams and not just think about it. At first, they started thinking about it, and then they eventually started writing it down.

I'm actually working on this right now. This was not a strength of mine, so I got out a journal and I started writing. I've been writing and brainstorming about different things. I don't even have my new dream board or my word of the year yet. You don't have to have the action stuff yet.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹, 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸, 𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻.
Some of you might have just started dreaming yesterday, well then we're going to start writing it down.

There has been a whole bunch of studies done at Harvard, one of which was a graduating class they studied. They said, 97% had zero goals, and only 3% actually wrote their goals down in that graduating class. 10 years later, they came back to that class and a majority of them had not achieved what they wanted. But 3% of those people were earning the average of 20 times more than 97% of their class. That wasn't even counting like other areas of their life.

It was just saying 3% of people in that graduating class had a focus, and then 10 years later, had accomplished some of those dreams, and the 97% of that graduating class at Harvard did not.

So there is power in getting a notebook and a pen, and just brainstorming. You don't even have to figure out the steps yet, all you're going to do is start writing some dreams down.

"They did the same study, they took 267 participants and found out that if they wrote down their goals, 42% were more likely to achieve them because they actually sat there and wrote them down".

"When you write something down, you are setting an aim and putting your future in motion. The actual act of writing your goals down makes them real and tangible".

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹. 𝗜𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼.

You might feel like if you wrote it down you have to achieve it. You just have this dream have physically, no direction, and you don't even know how to achieve it. We're not there yet, but we're going to talk about smart goals, timeframes, and writing down specific goals.

This book guides you. But for right now, your action step and thought process should only just be, to start dreaming. Find a notebook, and start writing or brainstorming without any direction at all. Writing your dreams and your goals enables you to stay focused so that you are more likely to avoid distraction.

"One of the best ways to get started is to simply identify your desires. It's very important that you get clear on what you really want. But don't treat it like homework, this is fun".

I usually brainstorm and just put a big circle in the middle of my dream board where I'll write 2023. And then I just draw different lines all over the place just like a brainstorming session. Or you can do it however you want to do it. Just get your pen and paper out.

How do you discover your destiny?

Your destiny has to do with what excites you, what you're passionate about, and what you really love doing. Your destiny will be part of your dreams and desires that are in your heart.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴.
"Write as big as you can, and write from your heart. Do not let your mind tell you that it's impossible. All we're going to do is start writing".

I really want to make sure that you're taking the action, so I'm going to do it myself. This is accountability for me to come here, and share with you what I want to achieve. I'm not going to wait like the 97% of other people who will wait until the next year. In doing that, they're actually wasting 30 days trying to figure it out, when we could do it right now.

So if all you're focusing on is your fat loss or getting healthy, that's perfect. You want to go to the gym three to five times a week, do a certain type of workout, join CrossFit or run a marathon.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝘁, 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁. 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁.
Find yourself a notebook or put it in the note section on your phone. But there is something about writing it with a pen and paper.
