Take Control Of Your Time ( At Your Best by Carey Nieuwhof )

"You and your time are far less controlled by other people than you think. When you don't have complete control over your calendar or your time, focus on what you can control, not what you can't control. And surprisingly, you will have more time than you think if you just monitor how much time you're wasting". ~Carey Nieuwhof

Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie, and I have a lot of books to share with you that we have done on the page. This is just to give you some different viewpoints because everybody is on a different path.

In the mornings, I like to talk about mindset. I think it's super important with your health journey because most people don't take care of their minds or even understand the power of mindset and how it affects their fat loss.

Whether I think "I can" or "I can't", gratitude actually plays a huge factor in it. Take time for yourself and believe that you can, because the negativity that rolls around in your mind plays a factor in whether you're going to hit your goals or not.

I go through a lot of books, and I have for a long time. I've been a reader since high school, and that's why I tell people to take even five minutes in the morning to read.

Or it could be when you're putting your makeup on, taking a shower, or getting ready for your day. My encouragement to you is not to pop open the news, and don't go swiping through social media. But instead, listen or read something. Sometimes people will say that they don't have time, but in reality, you have time for what you make time for.

Because when you believe that you can, you've got a positive attitude and a grateful heart. You're going to make better decisions because you're going to feel better about yourself.

𝗪𝗲'𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 "𝗔𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁" 𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗡𝗶𝗲𝘂𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀.

This book will help with your time management, priorities, and your energy levels. And it will help you understand when the best time for you to be most productive.

"You and your time are far less controlled by other people than you think".

Oftentimes people will say, "I don't have time", "I don't control my time", or "My boss, my spouse, my kids, or other things control my time"...

"When you don't have complete control over your calendar or your time, focus on what you can control, not what you can't control. And surprisingly, you will have more time than you think if you just monitor how much time you're wasting".

"Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right".

If you believe that you can, you will.

If you believe that you can't, you won't.

Your belief, and whether you're going to look, feel, or achieve a certain goal, start with your mindset. So we've gone through a ton of books over the course of a year, and I'm going to share them with you. Also, these are great gifts to give, if you're thinking of gifts to give this holiday season. I love to give books, I think it's something that would change people's lives.

KETO MOM BOOK CLUB:

1. "The Noticer" by Andy Andrews

This is a fictional book, and it's about perspective. It's story-driven and it's really great.

2. "5 Second Rule" by Mel Robbins

I've kind of reversed it, I've done it two ways.

  • 54321 Don't think about it, go to the gym.

  • 54321 Make the phone call.

  • 54321 Get up and get to your kitchen and prep your meals.

  • 54321 Ask yourself, "Am I hungry, or am I going to eat that doughnut?".

The five-second rule is an incredible book. It will help you have awareness of doing something, or not doing something within five seconds before your brain talks you out of it.

This is a great book. And if at any point, you're like, hey, you should read this book. Or if there's a book that's truly helped you with your mindset, post that below. Here's one of my all-time favorite books, like

3. "The Last Arrow" by Erwin Raphael McManus.

This is my all-time favorite book. The author is a pastor in L.A., and this his book is just about your life. When somebody is not in a good space, or maybe they're challenged in life. Not just about fat loss but overall, if they need something to help them in their lives, this book will help. It's amazing! I've probably read it 25 times.

4. "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale

This book is all about the power of positive thinking.

So as you read through these books, you're going to find that a lot of them have a similar message. So if you pick a book like "The power of positive thinking" or "The power of moments", both have similar concepts, and different authors, but the same type of book.

These are great books and I encourage my teenagers to read these books as well, so they don't have to walk through some of the challenges or struggles that you're going through. It's going to help them immensely as they become adults.

5. "Thinking for a Change" by John Maxwell

All these books, talk about the power of your mindset, learning, growing, implementing, and understanding that it all starts with your mindset.

6. "The Compound Effect" by Darren Hardy and "Goals" by Zig Ziglar

If you need a book to help you make a list of your goals, and how you exponentially get to your goals, then it would be these 2 books. These books are not fictional, and it does not focus so much on perspective. These books will give you steps like a, b, and c to get you to your goals.

7. "The Noticer" by Erwin Raphael McManus and "The Travelers Gift" by Andy Andrews

The Noticer is actually one of the first books I read by Andy Andrews. So if you're looking for a gift to give anybody for Christmas, I would say get get "The Traveler's Gift", or "The Last Arrow".

8. "The Rhinoceros Success" by Scott Alexander

As we dove into our business seven years ago, our CEO gave us this book to us. It talked about becoming a rhino, having a thick skin, and not letting people's negativity or viewpoints sway our calling.

So this is a fun book, and if you want to start your kids on inspirational self-development books, this would be one of the first books you should get your kids.

9. "Winning The War In Your Mind" by Craig Groeschel.

He's a pastor from Oklahoma City, where my husband used to work for a church called Life Church. My husband actually helped with the YouVersion Bible app. So again, this is a really good book.

10. "Dynamic People Skills" by Dexter Yager.

If you are working on your business, anything by Dexter Yager is really great.

11. "Chazown" by Craig Groeschel.

It will help you in all areas of your life, Spiritual, Physical Financial, Relationships, and your Work life.

12. "Dream it. Pin it. Live it" by Terry Savelle Foy

This book is all about dream boards. We may actually redo this book because people need to do dream boards. I always tell people not to wait till January, but they wait anyways. This book is really fun, you can dream, and write down your goals so you can create a vision board.

So these are just a few of the books that we have done. I love to go through books because I love to read and understand the power of your mindset. If your goal is fat loss, then you need to start with your mindset. Because if you don't believe that you can do it, then the likelihood of you achieving what you truly want, is highly unlikely.

Get a book, read one page, download the audible, and listen to it while you're showering. You might be pleasantly surprised by how you make better decisions throughout the day, all because you focused on your mindset in the morning. And I think that's super important.

What is a dream board?

A dream or vision board is a board that you create where you write down your dreams and visions for your life. My kids and I do them every year. It could be a piece of cardboard, or it could be a poster board.

  • Places you want to travel

  • Pay off debt

  • Health

  • Dream house

A dream board has things that you want for your life. Part of dreaming is visualizing it, seeing it, and looking at it every single day. It will help shift your perspective, and you're going to work towards it.

Because if you say you want this but it's nowhere in sight, you might just forget about it.

"I want to lose weight".
  • Why?

  • For what reason?

  • Do you see it every day?

  • Is it in front of you?

  • Do you have post-it notes?

Try to post reminders on your refrigerator or in your car saying "You should pack your lunch". If you didn't pack your lunch, turn around. Don't go through the drive-thru. Write them down and put them in places where you can see them. It's super helpful.

Oftentimes we get caught up in conversations, people, or our fast-paced lives. We can just make dumb decisions, and then get frustrated. So after Christmas or the holidays, we will get our boards, glitters, and markers out. You can also use magazines or print pictures. It's a really great family activity. I hope that's helpful.

There are just so many great books. The point is to not just listen to me, or don't just watch people online. I want you to actually take action and get yourself and everybody a book for Christmas.

All right! I hope you guys have a great morning. Message me with any questions and I'll talk to you later. Bye!
