Focus On Doing The Action (Dream It, Pin It, Live It! by Terri Savelle Foy)
Updated: Jan 6

We're diving into"Dream It, Pin It, Live It" by Terri Savelle Foy. We've been going through this book since November, and earlier this week our girls started creating their vision boards.
We'll be working on our vision boards as we're getting ready to dive into the new year. We've talked about the "Dream it" part, writing our goals, and the things that we want to accomplish next year. We've talked about "Pinning it", which is the actual vision board. And then "Live it", which means "Action".
You can visit our website ketomomsecrets.com and click on Book club, you can see all of the books that we've done in the past year. We went through "The Power of One More" by Ed Mylett.
ACTION
"There's a difference between goals and standards. I've got a mind-blowing revelation for you. Unfortunately or fortunately, goals and standards are two different things. You have to set standards, and many people confuse goals and standards as one and the same but they're not. Before you can achieve your goals, you must understand the role that standards play".
~ Ed Mylett (The Power of One More)
Are you ready to take action on your goals and dreams?
What standards are you willing to accept?
"You don't rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems"
~James Clear (Atomic Habits)
So I've got my S.M.A.R.T. goals, but just because I have something written down, printed out, and hanging on my wall, doesn't mean I'm actually going to achieve them.
I have to live with it and understand the power of standards. I have to understand that I don't rise to the level of my goals, I fall to the level of my systems.
The systems are my habits and standards. When you raise your standards, habits, and systems, that's when you create those action steps that will get you to your goal.
"Preparation time is never wasted time".
It's the things that you do throughout your day that people don't see, action steps a day in and day out, or doing your DMO, are the things that will get you to where you want to go. Those little habits that are stacked over time will get you to those goals that you've written down.
I started my board last night, and it's different than others. I started with words, it's kind of like the book "Chazown". I created my goals based on the different spokes in my life.
If one spoke is broken, then it affects your other spokes. And so I did different spokes and I picked out "BUILD" as my word for the year.
