Good morning! How is everybody doing, happy June 1st and it is a brand new month. I Love New. So as you're tuning in, where are you tuning in from this is going to be fun. Today, we are going to dive in to a new book, and if you're brand new, don't just check out because we're going through a book. I'm going to tell you why we're going through a book, why you're here on this page and how I can help you. So who's excited for a new month? This Keto Mom page started almost six years ago, and it started by just us, tracking our life. I said "If our family's going to eat healthier, if I'm going to work on making more keto foods and if I'm going to work on this, then surely somebody else wants to learn with me"... So all I did was, I started tracking our life and what we ate, our recipes, and the tips & tricks. It has been so fun to connect with so many people all over the world.

Thank you for just sharing what works for you as well. Because it's not just about me and my family, it is about you, all of your ideas and tips and tricks on this lifestyle.

Welcome to Day 1 of our Book 2 session

So we don't look at it as a diet, we look at it as a lifestyle. So it wasn't an end destination, we didn't start this with "When I get to the vacation it's done".

There just never was an end destination, my goal was "I'm just going to keep doing this because I feel great".

So thank you for tuning in, you will find recipes, tips & tricks and ideas every single day here. Let me say this, I love to read. Are you a reader or not reader? And something that I've realized over the course of years, as I've been walking people through how to eat better and sharing little tips and tricks that have worked for our family, but I never realized how important it was to make sure that your mindset is right. Because if your mindset isn't there, how are you going to make the best decisions possible to get you to where you want to go. So oftentimes people will come to me and they'll go "How do I do this?" or "I can't do this, I keep failing"... And I'm like "Do you read?". What do you do in the mornings, do you own your mornings, does your day own you, do you focus on your mindset, are you grateful and thankful? And usually the response I get back is "No, I don't read, I don't have time to read. I don't have systems in place for my life"...

So on here, my goal is to walk you through a book or two every single month. Whether you have the book with you, and you're going through it with me, or you're just going to follow along. Last month, we started with a book called "Rain or Shine". It was a very simple read to get you into the habit of reading. This book ("Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod) is the one we're going through for the next ten days. And I love this book because it is going to share an incredible story with you. It's going to help you understand that there's nothing that you're going through that you can't come out of or you can't get past, but it's going to take some discipline. And so if you're going through the book with me, and if you have the book, let me know below because I'd love to know. Otherwise tune in here every single morning. I should have done this earlier. We had a crazy party last night for our daughter, who turned eight and we all had a great night. Then we allowed everybody to sleep in, so my morning is starting how I normally do it but just an hour later. Anyways, I started with the introduction and that's what we're going to go through right now. We're going to start going through chapter one tomorrow and we're going to get done in ten days. If you are going through the book, I would love to know what did you like about the introduction...

The author's name is Hal Elrod, and this is how he started off his book. He tells the story of his life, and a very crazy accident that happened to him.

And when he was saved out of the car accident, most of the first responders or paramedics would have thought that he wasn't going to make it. So once he was out of the hospital, he said "I had to take responsibility for getting my life back. Instead of complaining about how things should be, I embraced how things were. I stopped putting energy into wishing my life was different into wishing bad things didn't happen to me and instead, I focused a hundred percent on how to make them better". So it doesn't matter where you're at in life, it doesn't matter of the past... He says, you can't change the past, you can only move forward. So if you have gotten to today, it's a brand new month, and you're like "I keep failing, I keep messing up, I just can't get the motivation to start, or that's not me"... It's a mindset, you have to decide, you have to commit, you have to take ownership.

He's going to talk about ownership, to owning your morning and owning your life. I can't do it for you, nobody can do it for you. You're going to have to say "Yes, I'm going to work on this, I'm going to work on my health, I'm going to get up in the morning, I'm going to have a better relationship with my spouse, I'm going to work on not yelling at my kids, or I'm going to get up and move my body".

Whatever it is that you need to work on, today's the day. The past is the past, and you're going to move forward. But you've got to have the discipline and the ownership to do it.

So he says this, "It is your responsibility to choose the most empowering reasons for the challenge". So he used his accident to fuel him to move forward. Then he maps out his whole life. He got his life back on track, he started speaking, he wrote some books, and he had some more challenges. So he walks you through over the course of the next twenty years. Then he talks about the morning miracle, and how it started as really taking ownership of his morning. He thought that if he could get everything done in the morning, like his mindset, moving his body, drinking water, and all the things he could do in the morning. Taking ownership of everything that he personally did, and not what was done to him. Getting up in the morning, not hitting the snooze button, and mapping out the systems that he wanted to do to get to where he wanted to go. If he could own his morning, the rest of the day would fall in place, and it all starts right here in your mind.

We need to start taking responsibility for our lives

So I loved what he said, "I believe it is crucial for us to embrace perspective that anything another person has ever overcome or accomplished is simply evidence that anything we need to overcome or want to accomplish is possible for us". "No matter what was in your past or your current situation, it begins with accepting total responsibility for every aspect of your life and refusing to blame anybody else".

So responsibility for your life, the past is the past, and refusing to blame anybody else.

"The degree to which you accept responsibility for everything in your life is going to be the degree of personal power you have, to change and create anything that you want in your life" He also said "It is important to understand that responsibility is not the same as blame. While blaming determines who is at fault for something, responsibility determines who is committed to improving the things right now". So are you going to take responsibility? And maybe all that means, is you tune in every single day here, to figure out what I'm going to read to you if you don't have the book, and then put it into action. So it's a decision, it's ownership, taking responsibility, and then it's going to be taking action on the things that you learned. Maybe it's learning different tips and tricks here, or drinking more water, buns off the burger, intermittent fast, or get up and workout. It's learning something and putting it into action. And that's what he's going to focus on and it's going to help create your morning.

He walks us through the morning and then he says grab a pen and paper because you're about to write all over your book. The good news is that you have the ability to change or create anything in your life that you want, and we're going to start right now.

So this is going to be a really big credible book, I'm super excited to walk you through it. Whether you go through the whole book in one day, because you can't put it down, or you follow along here for the next ten days. We're going to dive into "Atomic Habits" by James Clear at the end of June, it's going to be great. We're going to go through just these chapters of the "Miracle Morning ", I'll walk you through the highlights of it. If you want to obviously move forward, go ahead. But here's my challenge to you, you have to take the action on what he teaches you or what I teach you. You got to take anybody that you listen to, and anything in your life, whether you're learning about how to help your marriage, or your parenting or finances, you can't just gather all the information and let it sit here. You've got to take action on what you've learned.

It's going to be a great Month!
So today, maybe you'll get the book, or you're going to mindfully go, "I'm going to take responsibility, and I'm going to write down my goals for the month", "I know what I'm focusing on, and I can take action, I'm not going to blame or shame or justify anything from my past". There's blame from the past, and then there's ownership and responsibility and we are going to do it together.

So it's going to be a great book, just continue to tune in here. I will be sharing lots of different recipes and tips and tricks for you every single day. So thank you for tuning in, I hope you have an incredible morning.

Happy June 1st and we will talk to you soon.
