We're going through the book, "The Wealth Money Can't Buy" by Robin Sharma. Let's focus on redefining wealth beyond material success. True wealth can also come from personal growth, discipline, and living with a purpose. And it’s exciting to see how these principles are influencing our lives and the way we guide our families.
Stop Saying These Two Bad Words
"Two words that amount to dirty swearing, cussing words. What are these two words that when used together, amount to a symphony of negativity and seriously curb your commitment to personal growth".
"I'LL TRY"
"I'll try, means you won't commit. I'll try, means you're not really invested. I'll try means you won't hold yourself accountable. I'll try, Means you are not seriously then interested".
"I'll try, mostly means you're worried about making the necessary changes that need to be made to lead a life that you love. And remember this, you cannot have the world that you want without doing the thing you must".
Saying "I'll try" often gives us an easy way out—it leaves room for excuses or a lack of commitment. True progress comes from being fully invested and holding ourselves accountable.
When we say, "I will," we declare our intention to follow through, no matter the challenges. Commitment requires conviction, not half-hearted efforts. If you're serious about change or growth, it requires action, dedication, and accountability
No more "I'll try," just "I'll do it."
Don't say "I don't have to go to the gym", instead "I must go to the gym", or "I get to or I choose to".
I get to eat healthy.
I get to go to the gym.
I must eat better.
I must move my body.
I must work on my mindset.
I must do these things in order to achieve the life and health that I want in my 60s, 70s and 80s.
The mindset shift from "I have to" to "I get to" is also powerful! It transforms these healthy habits into privileges rather than burdens. You’re not just doing these things because you have to, but because they’re essential investments in your future well-being and longevity.
By embracing this proactive mindset, you're laying the foundation for a vibrant life well into your later years. It's about taking ownership of your health, body, and mind, knowing that every action you take today brings you closer to the future you envision for yourself.
"I'll try, is a violent robber of human potential, a thief of exceptional performance, and a stone cold killer of your biggest natural dreams. You either do or you don't. There's no try".
In business and in life, commitment is an all-or-nothing mindset.
Saying "I'll try" often leaves room for hesitation, excuses, or a lack of follow-through. True commitment means you make a decision and stick with it, regardless of obstacles.
When you approach tasks or goals with a mindset of "I will" instead of "I'll try," you remove the option of backing out and take full ownership of the outcome. It's about being decisive, intentional, and accountable—either you're all in, or you're not.
Watch your words because they hold immense power. What we speak can shape our reality. Positive words can inspire, uplift, and create growth, while negative ones can harm, discourage, or even destroy relationships and self-esteem.
Being intentional with your words means taking responsibility for how you speak to others and yourself. You've got to be committed and you must hold yourself accountable.
