The Wealth Money Can't Buy

We're diving into "The Wealth Money Can't Buy" by Robin Sharma. This is a powerful book that delves into the concept of true wealth, which goes far beyond material success.

The book encourages readers to cultivate meaningful relationships, pursue personal growth, live intentionally, and make a positive impact on the world. It's not about how much money you have, but about the quality of your experiences, the wisdom you gain, and how you serve others.

Hang With Clowns, Expect A Circus.

"You become who you hang out with". You pick up their character traits or even the way they treat people.

The people we surround ourselves with can influence our thoughts, habits, and even our values. Their mindset, energy, and behaviors can either uplift us or pull us down.

By surrounding yourself with people who inspire, challenge, and encourage you, you are more likely to grow into the best version of yourself. That is why it is very important to seek out relationships that nurture positivity, growth, and kindness.

"Be careful who you spend your time with, because you can handcraft an exceptionally great life or stay with toxic people, but you cannot do both".

The people you surround yourself with can either push you toward growth or hold you back. It's important to evaluate your relationships and choose people who have the same values and goals as you.

Toxic people, with their negativity or destructive habits, can drain your energy and hinder your progress, whereas positive, driven people can inspire and support you.

"You become your associations and your conversations noticeably affect the way you see the world, as well as how you show up within yourself".

Positive, uplifting conversations can inspire us, elevate our thinking, and motivate us to be the best version of ourselves. On the other hand, negative or unproductive people can drain our energy, cloud our vision, and limit our growth. It's essential to be mindful of the people we allow into our inner circle and the types of conversations we entertain.

STORY TIME

You might want to get out of debt and save for your child's college, or take your family on a vacation. But if you're always around people that constantly spend money like it's not a big deal, and constantly advise you to just put it on your card to pay off next month, you will never be able to achieve your goals.

You could also be around women who constantly gossip and whine about their husbands, and all of a sudden, you find yourself saying the same things about your own husband. This might cause you to start looking at your marriage differently when you never thought of it like that.

Some people complain about their teenage kids, and if I ever choose to hang around people like that, I might start looking for flaws from my own kids.

Let's focus on teaching values and character growth with our kids rather than getting drawn into negative conversations. It creates a more positive environment for them to thrive and helps us maintain the kind of relationship where they feel supported rather than criticized.

"May I please encourage you to do a courageous audit of the people you allowed into your circle and remove the negative ones, while increasing your bond with those who fuel your faith and opportunity, bravery and human possibility. Because if you hang with the clowns, you'd better expect a circus".

Surrounding ourselves with people who inspire, uplift, and challenge us positively helps us stay on the right path. Removing negativity makes space for those who truly help us grow, while keeping us focused on our goals and values.

CRAB IN THE BUCKET

Crab In The Bucket

There were a bunch of crabs inside the bucket, and one crab was trying to climb out. But the other crabs grabbed him and pulled him down because they did not want him to get out.

The bucket of crabs represent the circle of people that are in your sphere of influence. It could be your workplace or even your home. You might be trying to get out of the bucket to do something different or make a change in your life. Changes like losing weight, save money, fix your finances, your marriage, be intentional with your teenagers, or even work on your spiritual or mental health.

Some people in your circle might think that you're becoming better than them. If they feel like you're growing past them, then chances are they're going to try to pull you down and back inside the bucket.

You might have some friends or family members that don't want you to succeed because your success makes them feel bad.

It's unfortunate, but some friends or family might feel threatened when they see someone close to them succeed. Your progress can remind them of their own lack of movement or unfulfilled goals, which can trigger envy or discomfort.

This is why it's important to recognize who truly supports your growth and who might be holding you back. Continue to focus on your own journey, set healthy boundaries, stay committed to your goals, and surround yourself with those who genuinely celebrate your success.

"If you hang with clowns, you better expect a circus".

The people you surround yourself with greatly influence your mindset, behavior, and ultimately, your life path. If you're constantly around negative or unmotivated individuals, their habits and outlooks can rub off on you, pulling you into their chaos.

But if you choose to spend time with people who uplift, challenge, and inspire you, you'll create an environment that helps you thrive. The company you keep is a powerful force, choose wisely!

Don't be afraid ask help from a mentor, coach, or somebody that's already done what you want to do. That way you can avoid making their mistakes and you can go further faster.

Seeking guidance from someone who has already walked the path you're on is a smart move. A mentor can offer valuable insights to help you avoid common mistakes, and fast-track your progress by sharing their experiences.

It’s not about doing it all on your own, but it’s about learning from others and leveraging their knowledge to achieve your goals more efficiently.
