Your accomplishments, your relationship status, job titles, gold medals, cosmetic surgeries, or even material possessions".

Understanding Self-Worth

Foundational Beliefs: The distinction between self-worth and self-confidence is that self-worth forms the bedrock of fulfillment and belief in one's inherent value.

"Self worth is the foundation of your fulfillment. Without it you'll never truly feel fulfilled. Self worth is eternal, deep rooted belief that you are enough and worthy of love and belonging, just as you are".

Internal Assessment: Reflect on your internal sense of worthiness. Rate yourself on a scale of one to five and consider whether you truly believe that you are enough and are worthy of love and belonging.

Self-Confidence vs. Self-Worth

External vs. Internal: Self confidence can be internal, it's how you evaluate yourself based on your qualities, skills, and your traits. Self-confidence can fluctuate based on external factors. Self confidence can be deflated, it can go up or down.

Self-worth is your foundation, it remains steadfast and rooted in an unwavering belief in one's intrinsic value. Self confidence is the house that you build on top of that foundation. And your house will only as secure as the foundation you build upon it.

Authenticity and Belonging: Self-worth impacts authenticity when individuals compromise their true selves to please others, they reinforce feelings of unworthiness and disconnection.

Building a Foundation of Worthiness

Internal Identity: The feeling of emptiness or inadequacy, despite external accomplishments, suggests that true fulfillment stems from cultivating a sense of worthiness from within.

Growth and Exploration: The book gives us a roadmap for building self-worth, strategies for nurturing self-compassion, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
