A Keto Meatballs Parmesan Casserole is a delicious low-carb, high-fat dish that combines juicy meatballs with rich tomato sauce and melted cheese. Here's a basic recipe for this keto-friendly casserole


For the Meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground beef or a mixture of ground beef and pork

  • 1/4 cup almond flour

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/4 cup grated onion

  • 1 egg

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

For the Casserole:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar-free marinara sauce (check the label for low-carb options)

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)


  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all the meatball ingredients - ground meat, almond flour, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, grated onion, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.

  • Shape the meat mixture into small meatballs, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. You should get around 20-24 meatballs.

  • Place the meatballs in a large oven-safe casserole dish.

  • Pour the sugar-free marinara sauce over the meatballs, ensuring they are well coated.

  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.

  • Cover the casserole dish with foil or an oven-safe lid.

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes.

  • Remove the foil or lid, and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the meatballs are cooked through (an internal temperature of 160°F or 71°C is recommended for ground beef).

  • If desired, you can broil the casserole for 2-3 minutes to brown the cheese on top.

  • Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if you like, before serving.
