Hey everybody! Welcome to the Keto Mom page. My name is Stephanie, and we're going to dive into carbs and calories. The number one question I've been getting is, "How do I pay attention to my macros?", or "What do I do with all of my macros, proteins, carbs, and fats?". That is what we are going to dive into. We're also going to talk about the CORE 4 challenge... I'm going to shake up a NAT lite. I like to drink a NAT lite sometimes in the evenings, and I really want the giddyup grape flavor, but my kids drank them all. I'm just going to shake the strawberry jam flavor instead...

But you can download my fitness pal or a carb counter. You can put in your information like your gender, age, weight, and activity level. It's going to give you a suggestion of how much you should eat. If you're counting carbs and your goal is more on a low carb or strict keto. You don't have to necessarily pay attention to the calories if you're not overeating.

Some people would go, "I have 10 grams of fat I can eat, I still have an allotment for food. What should I eat?”. Don't ever eat to fill in your macros! You can overeat good food, and that's where calories come into play.
You don't have to be obsessive about that part unless your mind goes, "I can eat that, it's keto", "I can eat all the nuts I want, it's keto", "I can eat bacon, butter, and fat bombs"... That is not how this works. And when you've overeaten a whole bunch of good fat, you're not going to see the results that you want.
When people start keto or low carb, I usually say don't dive into a whole bunch of fat right now. Because the likelihood of you getting your carbs really low is probably unlikely unless you've done this before. If you're doing low carb, then that's going to be buns off the burgers, croutons off the salad, grabbing a lettuce wrap, not eating the sugar, drinking more water, making better choices, moving your body, and drinking ketones.

I get up in the morning, brush my teeth, shake up my ketones, sit down and I read, I write in my journal and I've been working on meditating. Has anybody read The Miracle Morning? If you knew me in person, I'm not a quiet person. I'm an extrovert, I love to be with people, and I love to be fueled by people. But I have been working on listening more and not talking as much.

I'm like this because I have all these things in my head, that sometimes I actually need to do a brain dump. Tomorrow, I'm going to do a brain dump, meditate, work out, and then homeschool our kids. My mindset is set, I've been reading, I meditated and I will feel incredible throughout the day. I did my workouts I already fueled my body, and I'm ready to take on the day. When I own my morning. I own my day. When I own my morning, I most likely will make better choices. I probably won't get frustrated as easily, because I had a successful morning and did all the things that I wanted to do.
If that means that you have to get up twenty to forty-five minutes earlier than normal. Set yourself an alarm every ten minutes and do one thing. Read for five minutes, read one page, listen to an audible while you're in the shower or doing your makeup. Do something to get your mindset right. That is the number one key to having a successful morning.
For those of you who are doing the CORE 4, there's no specific workout that you have to do. I was talking to my girlfriend the other night, and she said, “I've got to get this baby weight off!”. She just had her third child, a sweet little boy. We were talking about food, she's doing the whole 30. I told her, "If you're up late and you've got your newborn baby, the number one thing is your food. Working out is great too, go for a walk, do a five to ten minutes free YouTube workout. Don't stress out about the amount of time you're going to go run on a treadmill in a gym. The most important thing is your water intake, not eating sugar or processed foods and eating the best you can".

What is my better option?
Am I hungry, or not?
Am I bored?
Am I eating out of emotions?

And it's true! Stop eating so much food! Is it a habit? If it's not that, then you need to make a couple of little pivots on certain foods that you're choosing. You can then add in the workouts, or go for a walk. You can work on your mindset and I just want you to be aware. Know that you can do this, and I'm here to help.
